Western Red Cedar Lumber...

Cedar, a member of the cypress family, is richly colored with heartwood and can last anywhere from l5 - 30 years. The top recommended grades of cedar decking are Architectural Clear or Custom Clear. Western red cedar weathers rapidly to a beautiful deep glow. Port Orford cedar is a lighter color wood and allows more options for staining. Port Orford is rated for a 20 year life expectancy. Cedar, like Redwood, is also a good insulator, making it a good choice for decks located above living space.

Not only is Western Red Cedar one of the few woods with it's own preservative oils, and it contains no pitch or resin making it an excellent base for protective coatings.

Western Red Cedar decks are firm but resilient underfoot, not hard and unyielding. This lumber is light weight, and is ideal for almost all types of applications. It is an elegant material that will complement any architectural style and has a beauty that blends into all landscapes.

Western Red Cedar decks are a beautiful, practical and long lasting addition to any home!
